At Jake Decorates, sustainability is at the heart of what we do. It’s not lost on me that the Christmas season has historically generated large amounts of waste.

Making small, positive impacts through our work is incredibly important to us — and honestly, some of our most breathtaking designs have come from reimagining materials that others have left behind.

I’m a huge collector of vintage Christmas decorations and love incorporating them into our work whenever we can.

There’s something truly special about giving a second life to beautiful objects. One of our most-loved sustainable touches? Repurposed chandelier crystals.

I was in the early consultation process with a client who was renovating their home and just so happened to be discarding a chandelier. After a few days with my wire cutters, those once-forgotten vintage crystals now take centre stage as stunning accents on their tree — giving new life to something that was already part of their home.

They catch the light in the most magical way — reflecting elegance, history, and a soft, timeless sparkle that elevates any festive design. It's one of those rare details that feels both luxurious and meaningful.

By weaving these elements into our Christmas trees and holiday styling, we’re not just decorating — we’re telling stories. And story continues to be the most important part of all the work we do.
