From Christmas Decorating for Friends to a Dream Job

Like most great things, Jake Decorates started small. Just me, a box of decorations, and a love for Christmas decorating that runs deep.

It all began years ago when I started decorating Christmas trees for friends, family, and neighbours… for free. I’d show up with a can of Red Bull, a Christmas playlist, and a few hours to spare, ready to work my magic and create something special.

Before I knew it, I found myself running a small decorating business in the suburbs of Sydney. What started as a hobby quickly became a Christmas decoration business and something I truly loved.

At the time, I was operating under the name Seasonal Studio, but that’s how Jake Decorates was born.

Before diving headfirst into Christmas decorating, my background was in marketing, filmmaking, and storytelling. Those skills come in handy every day. Every tree tells a story.

It’s about creating flow and design that transforms a space and captures that feeling of nostalgia, magic, and joy.

Now a Christmas decorating dream job, we’re lucky enough to work with clients all over Sydney and even Toronto, Canada, styling custom Christmas trees and holiday décor for homes, businesses, and events.

Some clients want all-new decorations designed from scratch. Others want us to refresh and elevate what they already have. Either way, the goal is always the same: make it magical, tell a story, and make it stress-free.

We’re also big on sustainability, reusing and recycling wherever we can and giving vintage pieces a second life. Many of our crystal elements actually come from old chandeliers and vintage furniture, transformed into stunning details on your Christmas tree. Creating holiday magic shouldn’t mean creating waste.
